Word for the Week ~ 2/15/2021

Winter Greetings,

I was surprised to see such a good group of people show up Sunday morning in the midst of such a snowstorm and near zero temperatures.  The music Sunday was wonderfully chosen to fit the theme of the service as we talked about overcoming social stigmas in ministering to people.   The subject of “love” is clearly the basis for reaching people, and it fit well for a Valentine’s Day theme in Sunday’s service.  The special gift from the Men’s Ministry to the ladies Sunday was a big hit!  It was good to see children in worship yesterday as well.  They love those Busy Bags!  (See below).  This coming Sunday we will be moving into chapter six of Luke’s gospel.  Be sure to check out the sermon outline that we will email out on Friday at 2:00 p.m.

Children’s Sunday School/Training: Ourleaders are working hard to get Children’s Sunday School kicked off on February 28th.  We had a great group of people show up last Saturday for our “clean-up day.”  Thank you to everyone who helped out.  Due to the weather, we have rescheduled the Teacher Training Session from this week to next Wednesday, February 24th, at 6:30 p.m.  This will be for all nursery, preschool, and children’s teachers and workers.  We will meet in the Worship Center as one group with several of our different leaders directing the sessions.  We hope to be finished up before 8:00 p.m.  Nursery will be provided upon request.  Call the church office at (660) 747-7196.  For more information, call Roger Dumas at (660) 864-3947.
