Word for Week ~ 1/13/2020

Sunday turned out to be a great day in spite of the 4-inch snow and ice we received the day before.  Even though we canceled the first service and Sunday School, we still had right at 200 people there to worship the Lord.  It was good to have Chanea Shepard come forward to join the church on the statement of her faith, and it was great to share in witnessing the baptisms of Draven Snyder and Felicia Whited.  Next week we plan to baptize Freda Rene. We continued in our new sermon series in the Book of Second Corinthians as we looked at Paul’s “Conduct For Keeping A Clear Conscience” (2 Cor. 1:12-24).    I placed a copy in the bulletin of “The Background and Context of Second Corinthians” which was also in my article last week.  Next Sunday we will pick back up with chapter two.  It was also great to see the Chiefs win their playoff game against Houston Sunday afternoon.  Go Chiefs!!!!!

Our Christmas Card Mailbox will be taken down soon.  It still has quite a number of cards.  Please check it this week for cards that you might have received. They are alphabetized by everyone’s last name. Please check and don’t miss any of the blessings that someone may have sent you. The box is located in the extended foyer by the coffee machine.

Offering Envelopes:  Our 2020 Offering Envelopes are ready to be picked up in the foyer of the Sanctuary.  Contribution statements will be mailed directly to you in the next week or so.

Memory Monday will meet today at 2:30 p.m. in The Park.
